 David DAVIS (Southern Metropolitan) (13:04): (2540) My matter is for the Minister for Police. The question very simply is: when will proper police resources be available and security and safety be enhanced in and around Murrumbeena? The background of this is on Saturday night, the 23rd – actually, more correctly, early on Sunday morning after midnight – an Asian man and an accomplice sought to break into a Kia Stinger car. They smashed the window – this was observed by local residents closely and directly. Then the owner came out, and they thumped him. He was king-hit and was also hit, I believe, with some sort of weapon, but I have yet to establish that for sure. The Moorabbin police did attend later, but there was some delay. This is a violent situation – Dalny Road in Murrumbeena. People are scared. The government has lost control of our streets. The violence is shocking, and it is time – (Time expired)
