 Richard WELCH (North-Eastern Metropolitan) (12:54): (2531) My question is for the Minister for Public Transport. Ms Narelle Lawton, a resident in Borlase Street, Yallambie, has been severely impacted by the North East Link. In 2022 Borlase Street was temporarily closed for construction of the North East Link, but this was meant to be a temporary closure. They have now been advised it is going to be permanent, without consultation and in contradiction to everything that preceded. This leaves that entire street, particularly this family, in an incredibly disadvantaged situation. Ms Lawton has previously written to Minister Carbines, her local member, seeking answers and traffic modelling and impact assessments. None of these have been forthcoming. It is terribly unfair to this community and to the people in this street, and I ask the minister to please intervene and assure the community that this street will be reopened.
