 Trung LUU (Western Metropolitan) (12:58): (2535) My question is for the Minister for Police. A recent shooting in Altona North, along with two ram raid arson attacks overnight in St Albans and Kings Park, have heightened concern about community safety across Melbourne’s west. These incidents have occurred in public areas frequented by families, shoppers, local traders and residents, raising concern about organised crime-related violence. Many innocent members of the community are at risk. My question for the minister is: can you please update my constituents on what action the government is taking to address the increase in organised crime-related offences, including alleged targeted shooting at residents’ properties, drive-by shootings at busy shopping precincts and ram raid attacks, to ensure the safety of local residents, workers and businesses across Melbourne’s west? Minister, your PSOs will not be the answer to these problems.
