 John BERGER (Southern Metropolitan) (18:55): (2623) My adjournment matter is for the Minister for Public and Active Transport in the other place. We are delivering significant cost-of-living relief for public transport users by halving fares for the rest of the year and delivering free public transport for under-18s permanently. At the same time we are introducing new tap-and-go technology to people, to give new options for how they pay their fares. For some people a Myki card is the best and most convenient way to pay their fare. Perhaps they have a concession on Myki or prefer to use cash when topping up their balances, and for others the new methods would simply be more convenient. The action that I seek is for the minister to provide me an update on how many new tap-and-go readers have been installed across Southern Metropolitan Region as part of this rollout.
