Adjournment
Western Metropolitan Region
Trung LUU (Western Metropolitan) (13:16): (2440) My constituency question is for the Minister for Police and is about the recent spike in organised criminal activities in Melbourne’s west, particularly in Hobsons Bay, and the impact this has on community safety and business confidence. The mayor of Hobsons Bay has raised serious concern about recent incidents, including suspected arson and a shooting occurring across local shopping centre strips in Williamstown, Altona, Altona North and Spotswood. These incidents are taking place in highly visible community areas such as Pier Street, Borrack Square, Hudsons Road and Nelson Place and are contributing to the increase in fear and anxiety among residents and local traders. Could the minister please update my constituents on what Victoria Police are doing in response to ensure the community and businesses in Melbourne’s west, in my electorate, feel safe?
