 Aiv PUGLIELLI (North-Eastern Metropolitan) (13:09): (2433) My question today is for the Minister for Education, and it relates to supports for children in my electorate who are twice-exceptional learners. I have been contacted by a parent of two school-aged children who are twice-exceptional learners, meaning that they are intellectually gifted and have one or more learning or developmental challenges like ADHD, autism and dyslexia. The parent is concerned that the current Victorian high-ability program does not properly cover gifted students as many may be underachieving due to educational disengagement, social isolation, anxiety and behavioural challenges, for example. Minister, what will you do to improve identification, support and educational outcomes for gifted students, particularly twice-exceptional students from the North-Eastern Metropolitan Region and beyond?
