State election
Bev McARTHUR (Western Victoria) (14:13): Over the past month our Liberal leader Jess Wilson has travelled to all 88 Victorian electorates on her Fresh Start tour, listening directly to families, businesses and communities in every corner of our state. Wherever Jess goes, she backs our local champions, who know their communities best. I joined her alongside outstanding Liberal candidates and MPs across Western Victoria: Emma Muir in Eureka, Megan Read in Ripon, Andy Pobjoy in Geelong, Callum Whitehead in Bellarine, Libby Pettit in South Barwon, Roma Britnell in South-West Coast, Richard Riordan in Polwarth and Jarrod Bingham in Melton. Unlike this tired, out-of-touch Labor government, Jess and the Liberal team are present, engaged and listening. Jess is in the pub, at the market, on the farm, in small businesses and on the road, meeting Victorians where they live and work and hearing firsthand what matters to them. That is the clearest contrast in Victorian politics: a Labor government consumed by its own chaos and failing our state and a Liberal leader with the energy, judgement, determination and plan to deliver the fresh start Victoria so desperately needs.
