Georgie CROZIER (Southern Metropolitan) (12:40): (2640) My question is for the Minister for Environment. I have been alerted to what is occurring at Albert Park Lake. Over the past six weeks or so, five swans have been killed by dogs that have been off leash. Local residents and community groups, including Lake Alive!, have been raising concerns about off-leash dogs at the lake since 25 January, yet the attacks have continued. I love having the dog off the lead and running around, so I am not saying that we should be absolutely over the top on this, but we do need to have an awareness of these swans on the lake. Albert Park requires dogs to be on a lead outside designated off-leash areas. There was an assurance to Lake Alive! from Parks Victoria that there would be an increased compliance focus on park users who breach the rules. Will the minister advise what immediate action Parks Victoria will take to address the community’s concerns on this important matter, on keeping these swans protected?
