Constituency questions

Eastern Victoria Region

Tom McINTOSH

Eastern Victoria Region

Tom McINTOSH (Eastern Victoria) (12:44): (2503) My question is to the Minister for Health. Minister, how is the Victorian government ensuring that every Victorian can age in place safely with the highest quality care wherever they are in the state? Indeed that place in the state may even be in Eastern Victoria. It was great to be out at Orbost recently celebrating the opening of the new aged care facility there, Snowy River Views. We have got people in Orbost ageing in place with line of sight to the new Orbost Community College – they can see their grandkids over there. It is a fantastic facility for the staff that are working there and for the people that are living there. We are investing in aged care in Orbost, in Maffra – right around the state. We are ensuring that in rural towns people can age in place with their family, with their loved ones. That is something I am proud of and something we know that the Liberals and the Nationals would not do. It is critical that we support people to age in place with their loved ones, and we are building the aged care facilities to enable them to do that.
