State election

Melina BATH (Eastern Victoria) (10:05): Victorians have had enough of a tired, wasteful and inept government, and the Nationals have a plan. Under a Wilson–O’Brien government our 10-year plan in terms of the economy will return the budget to a cash surplus by 2032. We will save $2 billion on a hiring freeze on back office roles, guaranteeing essential services. No public servant will be sacked. We will raise the payroll tax threshold to $1.2 million, freeing up 2 million small businesses from that tax burden. We will reduce debt and interest burdens. We will cap excessive public service executive salaries, saving $20 million over a decade. We will repeal Labor’s treaty, saving $1 billion, and replace it with First Nations Victoria. We will exempt homebuyers from stamp duty up to $1 million. We will stop the waste, we will end the corruption and we will deliver a fair share for regional Victorians.
