Jaclyn SYMES (Northern Victoria – Minister for Energy and Resources, Minister for Environment, Minister for Climate Action, Minister for the State Electricity Commission) (18:44): At the outset I would like to thank Ms Watt for abandoning her 3 minutes so that Mrs Hermans did not miss out, because we knew that Mrs Hermans was sitting in the chamber ready to give her adjournment. I asked Ms Watt to shorten hers to allow you to have yours, Mrs Hermans. So thank you, Ms Watt.

There were seven items for ministers other than me this evening. There were three that were directed to me in my capacity as Minister for Environment. I would like to acquit those. Ms Shing asked me and the department to have a look at measures to address Indian mynas in light of support that may help to respond to H5N1 and particularly to work with Landcare groups. I commit to having a look at that for Ms Shing. Mr Batchelor asked me to confirm whether a trial of acoustic cameras would be occurring in the City of Port Phillip. Mr Batchelor, I can confirm that locations have been identified in consultation with Victoria Police and they do include the City of Port Phillip. And to Mr Galea, who spoke very passionately about the penguins and the vaccination program and asked me to verify whether the facts he had put on record were true: to the best of my knowledge, Mr Galea, everything you said is true, and I will have that verified by my department.

The PRESIDENT: The house stands adjourned.

House adjourned 6:46 pm.
