 Melina BATH (Eastern Victoria) (12:59): (2524) My question is to the Minister for Environment. East Gippsland is home to amazing waterways, landscapes and formations. Some of those formations form the Mitchell River silt jetties, and world-class they are. Rivermouth Road runs along those silt jetties, enabling tourists, anglers and locals to experience this beauty, and over time the road has been deteriorating and deteriorating. The first leg is managed by the shire. It is open and reasonable. The second has deep ruts and potholes the size of small countries. My wonderful new candidate Gemma Rendell, the Nationals candidate for Gippsland East, has been out there talking to locals – she is a local girl – and they know how bad it is. She has been advocating, and I am advocating to the minister: do not cut services, do not cut boots on the ground in East Gippsland and fix the silt jetty roads.
