 Anasina GRAY-BARBERIO (Northern Metropolitan) (12:54): (2520) My constituency question is for the Minister for Public Transport. Beveridge residents in Northern Metro Region have been calling for a train station for years. The Victorian Labor government approved 15,000 homes last year and plans to build a further 180,000 homes in the next decade without jointly delivering the public transport infrastructure the community desperately needs. There is currently no train station, and there are only four daily bus services, with most bus services only running every 40 minutes. It is no wonder that only 1.2 per cent of residents in Beveridge use public transport. Infrastructure Victoria’s 30-year infrastructure strategy also recommends that your government build a new station at Beveridge on the Seymour line. Minister, when will you answer the calls of Beveridge residents and implement Infrastructure Victoria’s recommendation to build a train station in Beveridge?
