Ms Georgie Purcell

Georgie Purcell

Meet Georgie

Prior to entering Parliament, Georgie worked as a Digital Campaigner at United Voice (now United Workers Union), a Communications Adviser at Industry Super Australia and was Chief of Staff to Andy Meddick MP.

She was prompted to run for Parliament as she wanted to see more young people represented in our parliaments, and to advance animal protection at a legislative level.

Georgie is passionate about improving the protection of animals - whether they be farmed, native or companion animals. Her priorities include banning duck shooting, securing an inquiry into greyhound racing, supporting Victoria's wildlife rescuers and carers, stopping commercial kangaroo slaughter, improving accessibility to vets and introducing a subsidised vet care system in the state.
