Constituency questions

Northern Victoria Region

Wendy LOVELL

Northern Victoria Region

Wendy LOVELL (Northern Victoria) (13:01): (2618) My question is for the Minister for Roads and Road Safety. Will the minister urgently fix Glenlyon’s dangerous potholes on Barkly Street? The amazing Liberal candidate for Macedon Kate Kendall has been touring all over the district, and everywhere she goes she hears the same things. People are sick and tired of Labor’s neglect and failure to do the basic things like fixing roads and keeping schools maintained. When Kate drove through the small town of Glenlyon she was shocked to see the numerous massive potholes on Barkly Street, the C316, a state arterial road. There were no workers to be seen or hazard signs, and it is believed that locals have had to circle the craters with bright orange spray paint to warn drivers about the danger. Kate Kendall, as part of Jess Wilson’s new Liberal team, will invest $5 billion to fix Victoria’s roads crisis, bring back proper road maintenance and repair a million potholes, including those on Barkly Street in Glenlyon.
