Constituency questions

Southern Metropolitan Region

Southern Metropolitan Region

Mr DAVIS (Southern Metropolitan—Leader of the Opposition) (11:41): (1378) My constituency question is for the Minister for Small Business, and it relates to the matter that I raised in this house yesterday, in fact, relating to the SOS Cafe in South Yarra. Now, the minister did tell me that there was a problem with the registration of that business and apparently they do not have a code that is needed to ensure that they can proceed. But actually this does not appear to be true, when I have looked at this, and I have actually seen here—I have their current ABN details, active from 30 March 2021, and they are registered for GST. So what I am asking the minister to do is to look again at this case and to ensure that the SOS Cafe is provided with the support that it is entitled to.

The PRESIDENT: Members, I really appreciate the members who just sent messages and came here to tell me that some of their contributions are already incorporated. Otherwise I would have asked for the bells to be rung and it would have been a waste of time, to be honest. I do not know how to put it, but we need that connection between the members and us when they put their names on a list and how we are going to avoid ringing the bells. That is all I am going to say. It can be through your whip, through me, through the Clerk, whatever. Thank you for your support.
