Teachers
Mr ERDOGAN (Southern Metropolitan)
Incorporated pursuant to order of Council of 7 September:
On another matter, our teachers often go above and beyond in the call of duty, but this has never been more true than over the past two years during the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Across the state hundreds of Victorian teachers are being recognised for their incredible dedication to students, families and local communities during the entirety of their illustrious careers through the Recognition of Service to Victorian Education program.
In my electorate of Southern Metropolitan Region, 26 teachers have been recognised for more than 40 years of service, during which time they have helped shape the lives of so many students and have continued to do so during the pandemic under extraordinary circumstances.
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate some of the amazing teachers and staff in the Southern Metropolitan Region for their incredible dedication to our school communities: Peter Cracknell of Armadale Primary School, Paul Jones of Balwyn High School and Susan Cook of Mentone Girls Secondary College for 40 years of service; and Deborah Harman of Balwyn High School, Sheryl Skewes of Beaumaris Primary School and Roger Kettle of Canterbury Girls Secondary College for 45 years of service.
I would also like to join the Deputy Premier in congratulating Sheila Pfeffer of Sandringham East Primary School for 55 years of service.
Thank you to all these dedicated teachers for doing so much to help our kids reach their potential.
