Pauline RICHARDS (Cranbourne) (14:40): (1643) My question is to the Minister for Community Sport. My question is: how does the Allan Labor government’s investment in community sport infrastructure benefit clubs in my electorate, like the Casey Warriors? Last week I had the great pleasure of telephoning the Casey Warriors president Numa Daniel to let him know that we believe in the power of sport and we believe in the power of league, and that means ensuring they have the facilities they deserve. That is why our budget has allocated $250,000 to upgrade their beloved club in Cranbourne East. I happen to know that the Casey Warriors are the largest rugby league club in Victoria. This vibrant club has huge numbers of children, men and women all supporting each other and playing topnotch league, but there is something else, a secret sauce, and that is their connection to each other. I am proud of this club, their success, the way they play the game, but more than that, I am proud of the culture of the club. I look forward to working with the club and the City of Casey on their aspirations, and I look forward to the minister’s response.
