 Gabrielle DE VIETRI (Richmond) (10:03): Augie, a year 7 student from Collingwood, has noticed that there are way too many people without a home. He wants to do something to help people sleeping rough in our community. He says:

A house is not meant to just be a roof over your head, it is also meant to be a safe place, but homeless people don’t have that.

He is urging the government to hand vacant homes to those in need and provide free fresh fruit for anyone who needs it. I think these are great ideas, so Augie and I are going to run a free fruit stall in Collingwood, and we invite the Minister for Housing and Building to join us to hear Augie’s ideas to address the housing crisis.
