Joe McCRACKEN (Western Victoria) (14:48): (2461) My question is to the Minister for Roads and Road Safety. Multiple constituents have raised with me huge concerns about the state of the Western Highway. Only recently I was driving along the Western Highway and there was really bad damage. We are talking potholes and ruined shoulders, and there was a sign warning commuters about damage to the highway. It said ‘Warning – damage to highway: storm damage’. There has not been a storm in western Victoria. I am no meteorologist, but there has not been a storm, but do you know what there has been? Systematic defunding of roads in western Victoria, which has resulted in huge potholes. My question to the minister is this: when will you change the sign so that people get accurate information on the road, as opposed to blaming our potholes on storm damage?
