The 58th Parliament expired on 30 October 2018. A general election will be held on 24 November 2018. All Committees of the 58th Parliament ceased to exist on 30 October 2018, and any incomplete inquiries lapsed from that date. New Committees will be established in the 59th Parliament.

The Public Accounts and Estimates Committee is a joint investigatory committee of the Parliament of Victoria. In the 58th Parliament, its members were appointed on 16 April 2015.

State Budget Briefing Seminar
On Wednesday 9 May, the Public Accounts and Estimates Committee in conjunction with the Department of Treasury and Finance hosted their annual State Budget Briefing Seminar. It included an introduction from Mr Danny Pearson MP, PAEC Chair, and was presented by Mr David Martine, Secretary; Mr David Webster, Deputy Secretary, Commercial Division; Mr Simon Hollingsworth, Deputy Secretary, Budget and Finance and Ms Amy Auster, Deputy Secretary, Economic Division, from the Department of Treasury and Finance.
Appointment of the Parliamentary Budget Officer
The Governor in Council has appointed the first Victorian Parliamentary Budget Officer.
