 Renee HEATH (Eastern Victoria) (14:40): Facts matter more than narratives, and the Allan, Andrews and Carroll government continue to falsely state that the Liberals and Nationals never funded a single additional police officer during their period in government between 2010 and 2014. But that is just not the truth. Not only did we deliver, we overdelivered, because compared to November 2010 there was a net additional number of sworn full-time equivalent police officers funded by the government. They had increased by 1975. That is 275 more than we promised. Not only that, there were an additional 1020 protective services officers, or PSOs – an additional 80 to what we delivered. We have done it before, and we will do it again. What we will do is make sure that Hastings has a 24-hour police station. That is what Frank Schiefler has promised, and that is what we will deliver. We will make sure that PSOs return to Tacoma and Upwey. That is what Clare Fitzmaurice has promised, and that is what we will deliver. The same in Officer and Cardinia Road stations – that is what Radmila Dyson has promised, and that is what we will deliver.
