 Evan MULHOLLAND (Northern Metropolitan) (13:10): (2591) My constituency question is for the latest Minister for Police, and it concerns Broadmeadows police station. Minister, not a week goes by that we do not see another horrific crime in my electorate and across the state, thanks to Labor’s record crime crisis. I was shocked to be told recently by a constituent that staff at Broadmeadows police station have been told that no more allocated overtime will be allowed. To quote my constituent:

They are then expected to do whatever it takes to cover matters as required and if that means pushing time frames out that is what they will do.

At a time when aggravated burglary and robbery are up 20 per cent in the City of Hume and serious assaults are up 17 per cent, this is unacceptable. Will the minister commit to reversing this dangerous decision that will put the lives of my constituents at risk?
