Share your experience: Understanding the impacts of cult/organised fringe group involvement
As part of its inquiry, the Committee needs to understand the impacts caused by cults and organised fringe groups. To achieve this, we want to hear directly from people who have been affected, whether personally or through someone close to them.
This is your opportunity to share your experience, in your own words. Your insights will help the Committee better understand how cults and similar groups operate, their impacts, and what kinds of support or protections might be needed to reduce and prevent harm.
Why are we asking for this information?
The Committee wants to learn from people with experiences of cults or similar groups. By sharing your story—whether it’s your own experience or that of someone close to you—you can help us build a fuller picture of the behaviours and actions people have experienced. This questionnaire asks about how people are drawn into these groups, what they may experience while involved, and how it can affect them and their families.
This questionnaire is anonymous to help protect your privacy and give you the freedom to speak openly, in your own words.
What will we do with this information?
During the inquiry, the Committee intends to share key findings of what people are telling us, grouped by common themes.
The stories shared through this questionnaire will help the Committee understand the real impacts of cults and similar groups, and show where support or change may be needed.
We hope the insights shared will give a better picture of what people have been through and help guide the Committee’s work.
