Legistrative Council E-Petitions

E-petition Number
Change mandatory quarantine requirements for VCE students
The Petition of certain citizens of the State of Victoria draws to the attention of the Legislative Council the need to exempt Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) students from being forced into mandatory 14 days quarantine following their entry, or that of a household contact into a tier 1 exposure site. Failure to do so will result in students missing the opportunity of sitting an exam or multiple exams. For the period of the exams and the time leading up to the exams, students should only be subject to tier 2 requirements and rapid antigen testing.

Exposure site listing will render the system unsustainable and put incredible pressure on the students and their families.

Measures to help VCE students are advocated, as opposed to simply accepting an unacceptable and unsustainable system.
The petitioners therefore request that the Legislative Council call on the Government to initiate a quarantine system that allows VCE students and their household contacts who have visited a tier 1 exposure site to be subject to tier 2 quarantine requirements with additional rapid antigen testing protocols.
