Submissions invited for rate capping inquiry
The Environment and Planning Committee is inviting public submissions for the third stage of its inquiry into the Government’s rate capping policy.
Submissions can be made until 29 July 2016.
“Under our terms of reference we must report every six months on the outcome of the rate capping policy on councils’ viability, service impacts on local communities and impacts on the provision of local infrastructure,” Committee Chair, the Hon David Davis said.
“We have already presented two reports on this inquiry and made a number of important recommendations,” he said.
The first report was tabled in December 2015 and the second report was presented in June this year.
“The next stage of the inquiry will be a further opportunity for people affected by the rate capping policy to have their say,” Mr Davis said.
Further details on the inquiry, including the two reports already tabled, are available from the Committee’s website.
