Parliament roadshow to visit regional centres

RegVisit1

The Victorian Parliament’s popular regional visits program hits the road again in 2016.

The six regional centres to be visited this year are:

  • Shepparton in March
  • Inverloch in April
  • Ballarat in June
  • Macedon in July
  • Mornington Peninsula in August
  • Portland in September.

The Shepparton and Inverloch programs are already fully booked.

The interactive learning programs bring the realities of parliament to students and teachers across Victoria.

Students get to experience what it’s like to be in parliament through role plays.

Teachers are also introduced to the wide range of education resources they can get from the Victorian Parliament to help them in teaching the civics and citizenship curriculum.

More than 1,500 students participated in the program last year, during visits to Hamilton, Swan Hill, Bendigo, Colac, Mildura and Wodonga.
