Awaiting Government Response

March 2023, the Legislative Assembly agreed to the following motion:
That this House refers an inquiry into the conduct of the 2022 Victorian state election to the Electoral Matters Committee for consideration and report no later than 1 May 2024*.
Snapshot of inquiry
This inquiry looked at the conduct of the 2022 Victorian election. We considered changes to legislation, changes to the way elections are managed and new measures to ensure our elections are fair and include all Victorians.
We received written submissions from 114 individuals and organisations. We also held 27 public hearings with various stakeholders. In addition, we conducted a survey of voters with disability, a community roundtable with voters from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and a survey of members of Parliament.
The final report is now available.
