Snowfest Gippsland
Wayne FARNHAM (Narracan) (13:08): I would like to rise today to recognise a wonderful event in my electorate called Snowfest, which has run again this year. Now, it is a bit unique; they transport snow from Mount Baw Baw down to Warragul. It is a free event for the community. Over 20,000 people turned up this year to the event. It was fantastic – absolutely fantastic – and I will acknowledge the government’s contribution to the event as well. The committee were very, very proud of that. I would like to thank the committee and the Warragul Business Group. We ran a colouring competition in my office for the kids to do a portrait of me. I thought this would be a good canvas for them. Lucy and Ashna were my two winners, and both of their pictures are in my office – one in Parliament and one in Warragul – so congratulations to them.
