I am delighted to rise and acknowledge the new council that has been elected at the City of Moonee Valley, and I want to acknowledge Ava Adams as the new mayor. I very much look forward to working with Ava. She will prove, I am sure, to be an outstanding mayor. I do want to acknowledge the great contribution a good friend of mine Pierce Tyson has made as the former mayor, as well as Katrina Hodgson. Both Pierce and Katrina discharged their obligations and their duties as representatives of my community with the highest level of integrity and with distinction. They left the place better than they found it. They have both made significant contributions, and I really wish them all the very best for the next chapter in their lives – there is more to be done, for both of them.
