Retiring Members of Parliament bid farewell

Twenty-four Members of the Victorian Parliament have delivered their valedictory speeches as they retire ahead of the November state election. This included 16 Members of the Legislative Assembly and 8 Members of the Legislative Council.

Witnessed by their parliamentary colleagues and members of their families seated in the public galleries, the departing MPs thanked their constituents and staff, reflected on the highlights of their parliamentary careers and recounted some
of the more entertaining episodes of their lives as politicians.

Valedictory speeches were delivered throughout the final scheduled sitting week of the 57th Parliament and can be read in Hansard.
