Council: 16 August 2001 - Ballarat Town Hall

Ballarat Town Hall

The Legislative Council met in Ballarat on 16 August 2001 at Ballarat Town Hall. It was seen as an opportunity for residents of Ballarat to learn first-hand about the operations of the Legislative Council and the Parliament of Victoria.

The Regional Sitting included time for both Government and General Business and also Questions Without Notice at 2.00 pm.

This was the first time since its foundation in 1856 that the Council sat outside Melbourne.
