Southern Metropolitan Region
In reply to Mr DAVIS (Southern Metropolitan—Leader of the Opposition) (17 October 2019)
Ms ALLAN (Bendigo East—Leader of the House, Minister for Transport Infrastructure):
The removal of level crossings causes considerable disruption to both rail and road through construction. It is incumbent on the Government to provide information to the community on these disruptions and allow people to make alternative travel arrangements. Managing disruptions associated with major transport infrastructure projects is a challenge the Liberal Party did not have to confront during their most recent term in government, as they delivered no major transport projects.
All expenditure on level crossing removals is reported as per normal reporting processes.
