Western Metropolitan Region
Mr FINN (Western Metropolitan) (12:46): My constituency question is for the Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change. I have often raised my concerns in this house about the impact of the Ravenhall landfill on nearby and some not-so-nearby residents. My concerns will intensify if the government goes ahead with its plan to expand this stinking hole in the ground into a monstrous stinking hole in the ground—one of the biggest stinking holes in the ground in the Southern Hemisphere. I continue to receive complaints from locals about the stench emanating from the Ravenhall landfill, often from people who have suffered physical illness as a result of exposure to this stinking tip. Minister, what are you doing to protect my constituents from the stinking hole in the ground that is ruining their lives?
