Eastern Metropolitan Region
In reply to Ms WOOLDRIDGE (Eastern Metropolitan) (17 October 2019)
Ms HORNE (Williamstown—Minister for Ports and Freight, Minister for Public Transport):
In August 2017, the Andrews Labor Government extended services on the Hurstbridge line thanks to the provision of additional rolling stock. In 2018, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government’s duplication of the track between Heidelberg and Rosanna, the Government added additional services to the line.
Planning for the second stage of the Hurstbridge Line Upgrade is now underway. The upgrade will deliver further improvements on the Hurstbridge line, including more train services, less crowding on peak trains and better connections to public transport in Melbourne’s north east.
