Legislative Council Electronic Petition

The Petition of certain citizens of the State of Victoria draws to the attention of the Legislative Council that VicForests and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning have not protected enough old-growth forest areas throughout Victoria.

The petitioners therefore request that the Legislative Council call on the Government to protect old-growth forests from logging and complete the transition of the logging industry into plantations, non-timber sources of fibre and sustainable jobs.
