Following petitions presented to house:

Georges Creek paintball facility

Legislative Council Electronic Petition

The Petition of certain citizens of the State of Victoria draws to the attention of the Legislative Council the application for a paintball games facility at Georges Creek and request that the decision to reject the application be revised by the Towong Shire Council due to the amount of support from local residents.

The benefits of having this facility in Georges Creek include—

(1)   better mental health and wellbeing;

(2)   increased fitness;

(3)   encouraging teamwork, strategy and problem solving;

(4)   bringing tourism to the area;

(5)   increasing local employment; and

(6)   enabling the applicants to supplement their agricultural income and remain on-farm.

The petitioners therefore request that the Legislative Council call on Towong Shire Council to reconsider the recent paintball games facility at Georges Creek application and work together to allow the applicants to provide a venue that is beneficial to the wider community.
