Ms HORNE (Williamstown—Minister for Public Transport, Minister for Ports and Freight):

The safety of passengers travelling on our transport network is a priority for the Andrews Labor Government.

Department of Transport recommends that the most effective way to manage any risks around stations and platforms remains for passengers to take care when travelling around the station and entering and exiting services.

Metro recently conducted an assessment of the platform surface at the Kensington Station. The assessment determined that the platform is being maintained to appropriate standards and is in reasonable condition.
