Ms D’AMBROSIO (Mill Park—Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change, Minister for Solar Homes):

The West Gate Tunnel Project is required to comply with current environmental legislation and project-specific Environment Performance Requirements that set standards for air quality and traffic noise. These requirements were set as part of an extensive and robust planning assessment process that included an Environment Effects Statement and submissions from the community. Compliance with the requirements is regularly assessed by a team of independent environmental auditors.

The Environment Protection Authority Victoria is actively involved as a technical advisor to the West Gate Tunnel Project.
