 Renee HEATH (Eastern Victoria) (12:46): (1874) My question is for the Minister for Environment. Residents of French Island are reporting starving and dying koalas, eucalypts without a single leaf and an unmanaged population of 12,000 – more than twice the sustainable level. Will the government rule out shooting and advise the immediate, non-lethal actions to be deployed, including veterinary triage, transportation to shelters desperate for infection-free koalas, large-scale fertility control without timelines and the funding and agency-led response for delivery?
