 Katherine COPSEY (Southern Metropolitan) (12:38): (1866) My constituency question today is to the Minister for Ageing and Minister for Multicultural Affairs. I recently had the pleasure of hearing from a constituent in my electorate, Panayota from Prahran. Panayota volunteers with two clubs that run events for the local Greek and senior communities out of the Grattan Gardens Community Centre. Through the Prahran Greek Women’s Group Asklipios and the Friendship Club, Panayota and other community members enjoy building social connections and fun, skill-building and cultural activities like group cooking sessions and shared meals. Panayota shared that the clubs appreciate government funding that allows them to undertake valuable work in the community, but they would like more security of funding to give them more confidence that they can continue to participate and deliver in these activities in a sustainable way. Minister, can these clubs access funding opportunities that are longer term and more secure so they can continue to provide vital community and cultural connections?
