Mount Waverley Reserve
Mr FREGON (Mount Waverley) (12:41): Thank you, Deputy Speaker. You will be ecstatic to learn that the Mount Waverley Reserve is going to receive a $2 million investment towards upgrading the oval and pavilion for the master plan. This includes providing men and women’s change rooms, more storage space, cricket nets and better social facilities. It is a fantastic local upgrade for our community. With a $3 million commitment also coming from the newly elected federal member for Chisholm, if you do not mind, Carina Garland, and the Albanese government—that sounds good, doesn’t it?—the City of Monash can now move forward and start work on this local project and delivering the Mount Waverley Reserve master plan. There is no reason to wait. A big thankyou for all the support received from our community and local clubs—in particular the Waverley Blues football and netball club and the Mount Waverley Cricket Club. Hundreds of members of the community have talked to me about this fantastic upgrade to make this happen.
