Constituency questions
Gippsland South electorate
Danny O’BRIEN (Gippsland South) (14:44): My question is to the Minister for Environment, and I ask: will the Limeburners track at Walkerville be reopened? This track, which connects Walkerville North and Walkerville South, was damaged by landslips and erosion over the last year or so and has been closed since earlier this year. I had advice from the minister’s office that further geotechnical investigations were being undertaken as to whether it could be reopened, and I have certainly had a number of constituents raise with me their concerns about the fact that this track has been closed. It is one of many across Gippsland over the years that have been closed after storms and taken years, in the case of some, to actually be reopened, so I am seeking advice from the minister as to what the outcomes of those geotechnical investigations were and will the actual track be reopened at some point.
