A community day for all ages
This year’s Open Day held last Sunday brought people of all ages to Parliament House.
Victorians mingled with interstate and international visitors, eager to see the heritage features of our historic building that dates from the gold rush days.
Many people enjoyed the opportunity to sit in the parliamentary chambers where Victoria’s laws are debated and voted on.
Parliamentary staff gave insights into the work that goes on behind the scenes to support Parliament’s operations.
People also got a glimpse of the future, as they looked onto the construction of the new annexe nearing completion at the back of Parliament House.
It was a day for the whole family, and everyone was welcome.
