 Evan MULHOLLAND (Northern Metropolitan) (14:02): It was wonderful to celebrate the elevation of Mar Polis III Nona as Patriarch of the Chaldean Catholic Church. Having an Australian-based archbishop becoming the Patriarch has been a moment of joy for the Chaldean and Australian Catholic communities, and it was wonderful to attend multiple events across the north with my colleagues Jess Wilson, David Southwick, Ann-Marie Hermans and Cr Jim Overend. Congratulations to all the reverend fathers – Monsignor Thair Sheikh, Father Mahir Murad, Monsignor Paul Mingana and Father Saleem Goga – and of course Cr Sam Misho, Waleed Bidawid and all the Chaldean community associations, from the Chaldean League Melbourne to the Chaldean federation and Vic.Talk.
