Outer East Foodshare
Jackson TAYLOR (Bayswater) (10:47): I just want to give a huge shout-out and thank all of the wonderful volunteers at Outer East Foodshare based at Templeton Reserve in Wantirna. There are over 80 volunteers and they act as a bit of a mini regional food bank for our part of the world. They support a whole range of charities and not-for-profit organisations to get food right across the area to those who need it most. I was proud that the state government was able to provide them with a grant to help them with a new large freezer, and I was very glad that when I jumped in there to get a photo, I was not locked in. I know politicians are not always the most popular people, so I thank the crew, Marilyn and the team for not doing that to me. It was very cold, so it is doing its work and making a huge difference there.
