 Daniela DE MARTINO (Monbulk) (10:06): The wonderful Selby Community House celebrated its 50th anniversary last weekend. Not even the non-stop rain could put a dampener on the festivities. The first neighbourhood house in the shire of Sherbrooke, it was integral in helping establish others in the area. A beautiful bench was dedicated to Jocelyn Aytan, the pioneering founder and pillar of strength and determination, who sadly passed away in June this year.

Spaces where our community can come together, find connection and support and learn new skills are just as important now as they were in 1975, and I commend the wonderful Selby Community House on its half a century of service. Here’s to the next 50 years.
