Mount Waverley Reserve
Matt FREGON (Ashwood) (09:47): It has been a busy couple of weeks in Ashwood, as it always is, but I was very pleased to turn up at the opening of the new Mount Waverley Reserve pavilion with my federal colleague Dr Carina Garland, the member for Chisholm, our fantastic mayor of Monash, Paul Klisaris, and the Mount Waverley Blues footy club and Mount Waverley Cricket Club. This is a project that I got involved with very early on, actually before I was elected to this wonderful place. We made a commitment in 2018 as a government that should we be elected, which we were, we would have a master plan for the Mount Waverley Reserve. Lo and behold, we got elected and that happened. That master plan, with the assistance of our federal government – thank you to Carina for her excellent work – has turned a conversation with the former president of the Mount Waverley Blues, Stephen Pewtress, and the current president of Mount Waverley Cricket Club, David Grossman, into what has become a fantastic $9 million redevelopment of the Mount Waverley Reserve. It was fantastic to be a part of it. I want to also note Chris Hale, the president of Mount Waverley Blues, who is doing a fantastic job there. The clubs are all excited. It is fantastic.
