(298) My question is to the Minister for Roads and Road Safety. When will the traffic lights at Henderson and Kelletts roads in Rowville be turned on? Upon checking the VicRoads website I noticed that once again the time frame for the completion of the Henderson and Kelletts roads intersection has been extended. In response to a question from my office to the minister, the minister said that the intersection would be completed and the lights turned on in August, yet now VicRoads are saying that there will be further delays.
The Department of Transport and Planning advises that the intersection of Henderson and Kelletts Road, Rowville is complex because the new traffic lights need to interface with existing electrical infrastructure that also needs to be updated.
DTP is working with its contractor and the power authority, Ausnet, to complete the project. Critical electrical modifications have now been finished and Ausnet is undertaking their final compliance audits and reviews, following which power will be connected.
