 Trung LUU (Western Metropolitan) (14:18): My constituency question is for the Minister for Police regarding the reduced hours and potential closure of the watch house reception at Keilor Downs police station. I have been contacted by several residents who are concerned about reports of the potential closure of Keilor Downs police station and are seeking answers. Can the minister please provide an update for constituents specifically on whether there is any plan to close the watch house’s reception at Keilor Downs police station? Police visibility, response times and wait times are crucial issues for constituents, especially as the community is already struggling with an increase in youth crime. Any plan to close a vital police station in the west, where crime rates are rising, would severely alarm my residents.
